At first I thought that she was going to have a ton of common sense, but well, that idea was a bust. She didn't even have the common sense not to cheat. And I don't only mean on tests, people. She may not of liked what she was doing, but that doesn't change the fact that she did it anyway.
Speaking of which, I didn't really feel the love between Emerson and the boy she's interested in. It honestly seems like they're "in love" way before they even get to know each other. The feelings between them just weren't developed enough, which was a bit of a disappointment.
All in all, Kiss and Make-Up just didn't live up to the standards that I'd set for it.

ReplyDeleteOh, you're like me! Any mention of cheating and tests and *strike three, you're out* LOL I am such a serious person when it comes to things like this. It's why I hated Patch almost instantly - he didn't care that he might make Nora fail her assignment! He almost tried to do it on purpose!!
ReplyDeleteOhh, I hate when relationships don't make you believe in their love. And I especially hate when people "fall in love" without even knowing anything about the other person *insta love to be burned at the stake!*

ReplyDelete*witch trials for insta-love* I just don't think that it's plausible to fall in love with someone while you know nothing about them. I would hope that you'd know something before you jumped in!
Hahaha I am way ahead, so most of my recent reads are pretty good. I go through phases. Also, I switch reviews around sometimes, depending on the publication date of the book. ;P

ReplyDeleteBut damn, seems like you're not having a very good streak with the books you're reading though. :( That sucks! To be honest, Emerson sounded like a boy's name so it was weird trying to get my head around the fact that she's a very girly-girl. And the cheating is a big no-no for me, the fact that she can't even control herself not to cheat shows she has no self-control and clearly not a character I can relate to!

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I definitely believe in insta-attraction, or lust, or even crush (like when you see a hot guy at the train station and you're all like 'I wouldn't mind that guy'. I have such a guy, that I pretty much come back to every one in a while, sighing at how hot he was and how I wish he would've set down next to me xD) BUT I don't believe in insta love. I think you need to know about the other person to love him - though, I have friend who fell in love in two weeks, and she and the guy are still going very very strong (you can actually read her story on my blog, here - http://drugscalledbooks.blogspot.co.il/2013/08/forgiving-insta-love.html)
Definitely. I think he was the thing that made us friends - just so we could argue about him. :P Are there more male characters for you to hate? We could go in search of one! :P He's secure. Very secure. Like Nora on the Falling Angel thing secure. LOL

Well, I bet there were a few I hated, too, but they just didn't stick with me enough I guess? Dare me to go through my books and suddenly a few will pop, I'm sure, but at the top of my head... *shrug* I like it better this way - that way I only have my book boyfriends with me :3
ReplyDeleteOhh, she's way stubborn, too, but I guess something about him just... disarmed her. It's lovely to see. I wish I had that kind of love in my life (or any kind of love. I adore my book boyfriends, but I can't really introduce them to my folks).
Well, that's actually a plus. There are few book characters that I really remember for very long after reading them - so... it's quite a feat. Hee hee. That sounds nice. ;)
