The language was kind of confusing, until you really get into it. Then you realized that it's part of the magic of the book. It is Safe. Matthew was a very likeable character, and his role as the teller was actually really cool. It allowed you to get some background story on almost all the characters, so it was a huge part of the story. Ariel is really moody and the kind of girl that when you see her you immediately know that nothing in her life has ever gone right. Their love story was cute, but it wasn't a very big part of the story. Most of the story centered around Safe and Above. I found myself getting confused in certain parts of this book, because I wasn't sure how the story had progressed to that point. All in all, fantastic imagination, and very good storytelling.
