Kiss Me, Kill Me(Scarlett Wakefield #1) by Lauren Henderson

I wanna read the entire series. Immediately. This had a cliffhanger ending, in a way. I really thought Scarlett's lippy would be the culprit. But it wasn't! I was so excited to not be right. That's a first ain't it. Anybody want that in writing? Wait. Never mind. I will continue reading this series. Face it. You already knew I would. I can never stop.

Here's the Blurb:

When 16-year-old Scarlett Wakefield transfers from St. Tabby’s to Wakefield Hall Collegiate, she is relieved that no one knows her dark, haunting secret. A few months ago, Scarlett was invited to an elite party with a guest list full of the hottest names in British society, including Dan McAndrew. Before the party, Scarlett had only imagined what it would be like to have her first kiss with Dan, but on the penthouse terrace, Dan leaned in close and she no longer had to wonder. Their kiss was beautiful and perfect and magical, and then . . . Dan McAndrew took his last breath as she held him in her arms. No one knows how or why Dan died, and everyone at St. Tabby’s believes Scarlett had something to do with it. But now that she’s safely hidden away at Wakefield Hall, Scarlett would rather forget that it ever happened. Only she can’t. Especially when she receives an anonymous note that will set her on the path to clearing her name and finding out what really happened to the first and last boy she kissed.

Empty by Suzanne Weyn

This book was very realistic, with a hint of paranoia. I mean, if we run out of gas(who's to say it won't happen?) what will happen? I know. You all think I'm paranoid. I'm not. You are. It's the end of the world as we know it......

Here's the Blurb:

A dystopic look at what happens to one American town when all the fossil fuels run out...

It's the near future - the very near future - and the fossil fuels are running out. No gas. No oil. Which means no driving. No heat. Supermarkets are empty. Malls have shut down. Life has just become more local than we ever knew it could be.

Nobody expected the end to come this fast. And in the small town of Spring Valley, decisions that once seemed easy are quickly becoming matters of life and death. There is hope - there has to be hope - just there are also sacrifices that need to be made, and a whole society that needs to be rethought.

Tattoo(Tattoo #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I think this book works fine as a stand alone novel, which is probably why the sequel didn't come out until two years later. This really kept me guessing, cause you know me, I was constantly jumping to conclusions. I would recommend this book for people that enjoyed Shadowspell. It kind has that kind of a feel.

Here's the Blurb:

Bailey Morgan isn't the type of girl who shows a lot of skin, but somehow, she ends up in a dressing room at the mall with her friend Delia applying a temporary tattoo to her lower back. Never one to suffer fashion doubt, trendsetter Delia knows exactly where she wants her own tattoo: on her stomach, right where her shirt ends—can you say "midriff"? Annabelle, the quiet one, chooses the back of her neck, and tomboy Zo plasters hers on the top of her foot. The tattoos will last for three days, and Delia's sure that with them, the four friends will absolutely kill at the school dance.

Unfortunately, killing is just what someone has in mind, and Bailey, Delia, Annabelle, and Zo are in for the battle of their lives. Along with her tattoo, each girl receives a gift—a supernatural power to help them in their fight. As Bailey's increasingly frightening dreams reveal the nature of their enemy, it becomes clear to the girls that it's up to them to save the world. And if they can get Delia to stop using her newfound power to turn gum wrappers into Prada pumps, they might actually stand a chance.

Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund

Do not let the cover of this book fool you. It is steam-punk  all the way. Which is good, because I love Steam-punk. I really liked Aerin and Dane, and found myself rooting for them at every turn. I find myself changing my ratings for books like this very often, so don't be surprised if the rating changes from time to time. I hope that in the near future you find yourself reading this book(don't forget to enjoy it!)

Here's the Blurb:

With a past too terrible to speak of, and a bleak, lonely future ahead of her, Aerin Renning is shocked to find she has earned a place at the most exclusive school in the universe. Aerin excels at Academy 7 in all but debate, where Dane Madousin - son of one of the most powerful men in the Alliance - consistently outtalks her. Fortunately Aerin consistently outwits him at sparring. They are at the top of their class until Dane jeopardizes everything and Aerin is unintentionally dragged down with him. When the pair is given a joint punishment, an unexpected friendship - and romance - begins to form. But Dane and Aerin both harbor dangerous secrets, and the two are linked in ways neither of them could ever have imagined. . .

The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May, and June by Robin Benway

A book that really is about relationships, in a roundabout way. This book was fairly fast paced, and definitely funny. I liked the characters of April and May best. Every time I got to a chapter from Junes point of view, I just kind of groaned. Loudly. And off key. I definitely liked Julian, and I like the way he was described as a "grease monkey". Now Stanford boy, he was just kind of a dork. Completely.

Here's the Blurb:

I hugged my sisters and they fit against my sides like two jigsaw pieces that would never fit anywhere else. I couldn'’t imagine ever letting them go again, like releasing them would be to surrender the best parts of myself.
Three sisters share a magical, unshakeable bond in this witty high-concept novel from the critically acclaimed author of Audrey, Wait! Around the time of their parents’ divorce, sisters April, May, and June recover special powers from childhood--—powers that come in handy navigating the hell that is high school. Powers that help them cope with the hardest year of their lives. But could they have a greater purpose?

April, the oldest and a bit of a worrier, can see the future. Middle-child May can literally disappear. And baby June reads minds--—everyone’s but her own. When April gets a vision of disaster, the girls come together to save the day and reconcile their strained family. They realize that no matter what happens, powers or no powers, they’ll always have each other.

Because there’s one thing stronger than magic: sisterhood.

Vibes by Amy Kathleen Ryan

A book that I have read many times, and never seem to get tired of. The main character, Kristi, is kind of self absorbed but she makes up for it in creativity and humor. I kind of wish you could see it all from Gusty's view, because, hello, who doesn't want to hear a guys point of view? Also, don't any of ya'll kind of wish that you could get vibes? I'd probably hate it and become a cold and bitter....well you know.

Here's the Blurb:

Nothing is beyond Kristi Carmichaels still mad at her father, who walked out on them two years ago. Soon, a school project brings her together with Gusty, her father comes home and drops a bombshell, and a friend comes out of the closet, and suddenly she is left doubting that she can read people at all.Bitingly funny but ultimately poignant and positive, this YA novel is completely on the mark.

Winter Longing by Tricia Mills

This book was a perfect read for today, as it fit my mood perfectly. A kind of sappy, supremely sweet romance. I like the character of Winter, and I like that her name is a little ironic(She lives in Alaska). I liked the dynamics of the novel, because she might be losing her best friend, she likes this guy, and her boyfriend just died. I mean what girl wouldn't turn into a hormonal ice queen? Sorry guys. Great writing, that pulls you in from the beginning.

Here's the Blurb:

When Winter's boyfriend is killed in a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness, she's robbed of the future she'd only just allowed herself to believe might be hers. Winter and Spencer had been destined for one another. And after his death, Spencer's presence continues to haunt her.
But when her next-door neighbor becomes an unlikely friend, Winter begins to accept all that she can't change. Can she open herself to a new future . . . and a possible new love?

Ten Cents a Dance by Christine Fletcher

A thoroughly enthralling book. Everything you've ever wished you could write, but couldn't. Miss Christine Fletcher has managed to interweave a story about greed, the mob, and dancing with some romance. What girl wouldn't swoon over this book? I mean really. Ever read Bright Young Things? No? Well don't, it's awful. But I can use it as an example for the awesomeness level of this book. Here is Bright Young Things_. I hated it. It didn't explain anything (Keep Reading). Here is Ten Cents a Dance '''''. Ok, get it? It was freaking Awesome. (Sorry, I couldn't find a tall line). So compare the two, You see where I'm going? I love it. End of story.

So Moving on. Here's the Blurb:

With her mother ill, it’s up to fifteen-year-old Ruby Jacinski to support her family. But in the 1940s, the only opportunities open to a Polish-American girl from Chicago’s poor Yards is a job in one of the meat packing plants. Through a chance meeting with a local tough, Ruby lands a job as a taxi dancer and soon becomes an expert in the art of “fishing”: working her patrons for meals, cash, clothes, even jewelry. Drawn ever deeper into the world of dance halls, jazz, and the mob, Ruby gradually realizes that the only one who can save her is herself.  A mesmerizing look into a little known world and era.

Dream Chaser by Angie Stanton

I love it. The storyline pulls you in right from the beginning. I started reading it this afternoon and hadn't put it down until the end. I loved the character of Willow, because her fear was really very realistic and didn't seem forced or fake which made her a very real character for me. Have you ever fallen off a horse and then had to get right back on to get over the fear of falling? No, well let me tell you it completely sucks. Your trust in yourself has been broken, and maybe even your trust in the horse was broken. But if your like me, you get right back on and try again. Willow doesn't. Maybe she does, but not the way your thinking. I really liked Eli to, he kinda seemed like a rock, if you know what I mean. He's always kind of there, even when they hate each other. So in one sense when they hate each other he's there, but does he really want to be?

Here's the Blurb:

Willow Thomas has a bad habit of running away from things that scare  her. And most recently, she quit her high school cheerleading squad  after a terrifying fall. With time on her hands, she auditions for a musical production directed by a Broadway choreographer. Just as things are looking up, Willow discovers she will be performing opposite Eli McAvoy, the best friend she abandoned three years before. To make matters worse, the kids in the musical hate her, her singing sucks, and her dog is sick. Eli has grown up during their
years apart and now possesses confidence and good looks, as well as a giant chip on his shoulder. He is in no hurry to play nice with Willow, but their entwined roles in the musical lead to entwined bodies in the backseat of his car. Just when Willow finally has her life under control, another surprise is delivered in the form of her
greatest challenge yet. Will she run or finally stand and face her fears? And will Eli be there to help or turn his back on her for good?

Stardust by Neil Gaiman

I think this book has a great faerie feel, and the critics are right. Real or not that time was a charming place. I like the way that Neil Gaiman writes. It has a very unstructured flow, and I envy him that. So if your up for being entertained, and want to read a book that was completely and utterly butchered when it became a movie, go for it. You won't regret it. At least, I never have.

Here's the Blurb:

In the sleepy English countryside of decades past, a lovelorn young man steps through a gap in a high stone wall, and into the most unforgettable adventure of his life.

I must say, the blurb was rather short.

Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown

I know, I'm not supposed to be reviewing this yet because

A-It hasn't come out yet.

B-It still hasn't come out yet.(Release Date: June 12 2012)

But I want to help them publishers get some buzz. This book has an intresting premise(A merman!). And an intresting ending(you'll have to read it for that one).

What I liked about this Book:

The beginning. I have some serious first paragraph envy.

Calder.

Lily.

Calder's POV.

The Ending.

What I *Cough* Hated about this Book:

The Cover.*Shudder*

Lily goes from completely being freaked out by Calder, to liking him within a few pages.

A dream sequence that is not really defined. I thought he was still dreaming after he woke up, I might have missed something.

Here's the Blurb:

Calder White lives in the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior, the only brother in a family of murderous mermaids. To survive, Calder and his sisters prey on humans, killing them to absorb their energy. But this summer the underwater clan targets Jason Hancock out of pure revenge. They blame Hancock for their mother's death and have been waiting a long time for him to return to his family's homestead on the lake. Hancock has a fear of water, so to lure him in, Calder sets out to seduce Hancock's daughter, Lily. Easy enough—especially as Calder has lots of practice using his irresistable good looks and charm on ususpecting girls. Only this time Calder screws everything up: he falls for Lily—just as Lily starts to suspect that there's more to the monsters-in-the-lake legends than she ever imagined. And just as his sisters are losing patience with him.

I give this Book Three Stars. I will be reading the series.

Take Me There by Carolee Dean

This writer is brilliant. She writes a book that is very complex, and that will keep you guessing. This really got me to thinking about death row. What warrants getting death row anyway? Read it, just because it was insanely good.

Here's the Blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Dylan Dawson is trying to pull his life together after his release from juvenile hall. But going straight isn't easy, and Dylan just can't seem to keep out of trouble. His problems escalate fast, and soon he has no choice but to hit the road, even though it means leaving behind the girl of his dreams. He heads south for Texas, on the run and in search of his father. (Dylan has no idea how his life became such a mess, but he knows that his dad is at the root of it.) When Dylan finds him, he certainly gets answers--but they're answers to questions he wishes he'd never asked.

The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg

A cute read for when your feeling down. Also good for a rainy day. Sorry this isn't very long, this book just didn't really speak to me. It was cute, but probably not something I will read again.
Here's the Blurb:

Love is all you need... or is it? Penny's about to find out in this wonderful debut.Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating. So she vows: no more. It's a personal choice. . .and, of course, soon everyone wants to know about it. And a few other girls are inspired. A movement is born: The Lonely Hearts Club (named after the band from Sgt. Pepper). Penny is suddenly known for her nondating ways . . . which is too bad, because there's this certain boy she can't help but like. . . .

Rules of Attraction(Perfect Chemistry #2) by Simone Elkeles

These Fuentes boys have sure got some egos on them don't they? And lemme tell you, I like it. A lot. The second book in the Perfect Chemistry series sure does not dissapoint. If anything, it makes you love the series more. Watch the Trailer Here. I think Carlos, Kiara, and Madison are perfect but Alex is just not how I pictured Alex. What are your thoughts?
Here's the Blurb:

When Carlos Fuentes returns to America after living in Mexico for a year, he doesn’t want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him at a high school in Colorado . Carlos likes living his life on the edge and wants to carve his own path—just like Alex did. Then he meets Kiara Westford. She doesn’t talk much and is completely intimidated by Carlos’ wild ways. As they get to know one another, Carlos assumes Kiara thinks she’s too good for him, and refuses to admit that she might be getting to him. But he soon realizes that being himself is exactly what Kiara needs right now.

Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith

I did not like the characters until the end. That was when you started to realize, Yes these characters do actually have have a little personality(and I mean little in the worst way). I was expecting a book a little more like Perfect Chemistry, or Forget You. Moving on. This book was ok, but I probably will not read it again. The story fell a little flat, and the author skips through all the good parts(or what could have been good parts).
I mean, I'm pretty sure at one point in the book they have sex, and you don't ever understand if they did or not.
I know, it's a young adult book, but really? She doesn't even appear to have friends to talk about it with. I've read a lot of YA books in my life and the author usually gives you some clues to what went on or whatever, we're teenagers(or adults as the case may be), not kindergartners.*Rant End*

Here's the Blurb:

Kiss
What Leah did--only she really shouldn't have--one hot night at a country club party.

Crush
What Leah has--only she really shouldn't have--on the guy with the green eyes, the guy who is not her perfect boyfriend, the guy who does not fit in her picture-perfect life, the guy her sisters will only mock and her mother will never approve of. Not in a million years.

Collide
What happens when everything you always thought you wanted--having cool friends, being class valedictorian and homecoming queen--runs smack into everything it turns out you really do want.

Kiss. Crush. Collide.
For Leah and Porter, summer is only the beginning.

Heart on a Chain by Cindy C. Bennett

My heart hurts. An achingly painful book about a boy and a girl. Sounds familiar, right? Wrong. This girl comes with a lot more baggage than expected. It is everything you never imagined. I cued up my Itunes while I was writing this and Lost in Paradise by Evanescence played. Listen Here. Weird Right? The number one song to explain/represent this book. This is one book you don't want to miss.
Here's the Blurb:

17-year-old Kate has lived her whole life in abject poverty, with an alcoholic father and drug-addicted mother, who severely abuses Kate. At school, her second-hand clothing marks her as a target. Her refusal to stand up for herself makes her the recipient of her classmates taunts and bullying. That is, until Henry returns.

Henry Jamison moved away six years earlier, just as he and Kate had begun an to develop feelings for one another. He returns to find the bright, funny, outgoing girl he had known now timidly hiding in corners, barely speaking to anyone around her, suspicious of even him.

Kate can't figure out what game Henry is playing with her - for surely it is a game. What else would the gorgeous, popular boy from her past want with her?

Kate finally decides to trust Henry's intentions, opening her heart to him. Just when it seems he might be genuine in his friendship, tragedy strikes, threatening everything Kate has worked so hard to gain. Can Henry help her to overcome this new devastation, or will it tear them apart forever?

"You told me a load of crap! I've thought over everything you said, a hundred times a day, every day, and it makes no sense. The only thing that makes sense is that you think you're not good enough for me. You think you don't deserve me. You think you have to self-sacrifice to make everyone happy."

Perfect Chemistry(Perfect Chemistry #1) by Simone Elkeles

I don't know what to say. I love this book, and read it over and over, but I still don't know what to say about it.
Here's the Blurb:

When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.  In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.

Shrinking Violet by Danielle Joseph

Another one of those music books, which is good for me because I need more music books. You can never have enough music in your life. A very predictable, cute love story. That puts some real emphasis on being shy. A read for a Rainy Day.
Here's the Blurb:

High school senior Teresa Adams is so painfully shy that she dreads speaking to anyone in the hallways or getting called on in class.
But in the privacy of her bedroom with her iPod in hand, she rocks out - doing mock broadcasts for Miami's hottest FM radio station, which happens to be owned by her stepfather. When a slot opens up at The SLAM, Tere surprises herself by blossoming behind the mike into confident, sexy Sweet T - and to everyone's shock, she's a hit!
Even Gavin, the only guy in school who she dares to talk to, raves about the mysterious DJ's awesome taste in music. But when The SLAM announces a songwriting contest -- and a prom date with Sweet T is the grand prize - Sweet T's dream could turn into Tere's worst nightmare...
